PSD2 Practitioners’ Panel

Until 2020, the EBA facilitated a PSD2 Practitioners’ Panel for account-servicing payment service providers (AS-PSPs) operating in Europe to assist its membership and the wider industry in fully grasping the compliance-related implications of the revised Payment Services Directive (PSD2).

The PSD2 Practitioners Panel’s work accompanied the PSD2 implementation process, clarifying open issues, fostering exchange and supporting a pan-European approach to avoid market fragmentation.

Deliverables of the panel included a survey to assess the status of access-to-account preparations by AS-PSPs, a regularly updated PSD2 national transposition overview and an overview on PSD2-related market initiatives with a pan-European scope.

The PSD2 Practitioners Panel had been preceded by the work of an EBA task force of payment experts and legal specialists dedicated at identifying key areas of impact of the PSD2 that would benefit from being addressed or further discussed by payment practitioners at a pan-European level. In September 2016, this task force published its findings based on this work and the outcome of a membership survey in a  report on PSD2 impact areas, practical issues and open questions for account-servicing PSPs (AS-PSPs).
