Open Forum on Open Banking
To support and further develop the discussion on Open Banking at a pan-European and cross-industry level, the Board of the Euro Banking Association has decided to initiate an Open Forum on Open Banking. This forum addresses all interested business parties. It is aimed at fostering a practitioners’ dialogue amongst the financial industry players at a pan-European level on relevant developments and challenges, such as security, interoperability and fragmentation with regard to Open Banking.
To underpin the idea of bringing incumbent and new market players together in a collaborative and cooperative atmosphere, the forum is led by a team of co-moderators, Don Ginsel (Holland FinTech) and Gilbert Lichter (EBA).
This open and public initiative ties in with the efforts of the Euro Banking Association to drive and support a pan-European exchange among practitioners on topical industry developments. Its launch marks a new milestone in the EBA’s long track record in generating supply side engagement and contributing to the practical delivery of pan-European visions.
The initiation of the Open Banking Forum also represents a logical follow-up on the work by the Association in this area, which has resulted in the development of the Digital Customer Service Interface (DCSI) concept and included an analysis of the business relevance of Open APIs and Open Banking for banks. Reports on both topics are available for download (see Publications) and have initiated relevant discussions in the industry.
